30 Jul UC Men’s Basketball Team Joins Kids and Community Members to Fix-up Basketball Courts & Park
Cincinnati Parks invites families with kids to come out to play in the park with members of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats team from 3pm to 4pm. Active games and summer time fun will continue until 5pm. The Bearcats want to hang out with kids in the community before they get their hands dirty in a service project in an effort to improve the basketball courts and safety of the park, they will be painting the backboards and also removing brush from the fence line and areas of the park.
Nassau/ St. James Park is being cleaned up in order to better serve the surrounding community. The University of Cincinnati men’s basketball team will join volunteers and kids from the community to help the effort. After playing games with the children the players will work to repair the basketball court and remove brush to enhance park safety. This park was left heavily littered over the 4th of July Holiday weekend and Parks and Recreation staff worked diligently on those clean up efforts.
Volunteerism is critical to keeping our parks beautiful. We are always looking for additional volunteer resources. If you are interested in working to enhance your park please contact Cincinnati Parks today http://cincyparks.wfcstaging.com/volunteer or call 513.321.6070.
