
30 May Science Geek Week at Krohn Conservatory
June 3-6 from 10am-2pm, join us at Krohn Conservatory for special displays, activities, giveaways and special guests. Each day has a different theme, with a variety of activities. There’s sure to be something for every science “geek” in your family. Come one day or to all!
Monday, June 3: Monarch Magic
Receive a free butterfly poster and a Cincinnati Park magnet (first 200 guests). Craft Monarch butterfly headbands, check out a live caterpillar display from Winged Wonders, learn from our Explore Nature naturalists and plant your own milkweed seeds in a pot to take home!
Tuesday, June 4: Pollinator Appreciation Day
Plant a 5” pollinator garden in a pot to take home and a get a free Cincinnati parks magnet (first 200). Make a bee house, roam our butterfly garden and sample a variety of real honey! Come visit with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden and the Cincinnati Reds mobile club house and mascots!
Wednesday, June 5: Ecuadorian Culture Day
Make and take a Tagua keychain and a Cincinnati Parks magnet (first 200 guests). Create a butterfly scientific specimen box, learn to spin yarn from Alpaca and Llama wool, sample a variety of Ecuadorian fruits and learn about Ecuadorian culture from the Rainforest Alliance and The Tandana Foundation.
Thursday, June 6: “Man Eating” Plants
Create a “carnivorous” craft, see a display of real carnivorous plants, meet up with the Cincinnati Reds mobile club house and mascots and plant a carnivorous seed to take home!
Activities occur both inside, and outside of the Conservatory. All outdoor activities are free. Admission to the Krohn Conservatory Butterfly Show is $10 for adults, $7 for youths (5-17), and children 4 and under are free.
